Compliments to McLester

This piece is different from every other piece of artwork I have done.
For starters - I usually work alone - but this time I participated with the University Women Painters.
I also usually work inside, from photographs with lots of supplies. This time I was outside in 102 degree weather,
hiking uphill in Greenwood Cemetary with only the items I could carry. Then there was the problem that
as soon as the acrylic paint hit the canvas it was almost dry. Most of my drinking water that day went to
keeping my paint moist. So this piece was a study and experiment in many senses of the word.

Now, I'll explain the name. Compliments is an art term for colors that are opposite of each other on the
color wheel. Green & red, orange and blue, and purple and yellow. I think it's obvious which set I picked. :)
To McLester - the statue that I painted was from the McLester plot. So in several ways, this painting is
Compliments to McLester.
