Artist's Bio

Growing up in the small town of Montevallo turned out to be a great advantage for Alabama native Joy (Glass) Koch. This town possesses a university with a fine arts program from which a child could benefit from seeing a rich varity of performances and displays on a fairly regular basis, and get the chance to participate in multiple university sponsored programs.

Receiving formal training in college as a computer based graphic artist, the creative itch continued to grow until it could no longer be contained in merely a digital format. As the years have passed, Ms. Koch has been building a collection of award winning paintings that for the most part reflect the beauty of the world around us. She currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL with her husband, three children, two cats, a dog, and a goldfish.
